Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
