The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the great news - 2 whereupon they are at variance? 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 The night a covering, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 Recompense fitted! 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
