The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 thou art naught but a mortal, like us; indeed, we think that thou art one of the liars. 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do. 188 They rejected him and then the torment of the gloomy day struck them. It was certainly a great torment. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
