The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 They do not expect any reward 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
