And a sign unto them is the dead land. We quicken it and thereout We bring forth grain, so that thereof they eat. 33 And We place therein gardens of the date-palms and vines; and We therein cause to gush forth springs. 34 That they may enjoy the fruits of this (artistry): It was not their hands that made this: will they not then give thanks? 35 Holy is He who created all things in pairs; of what the earth grows, and of themselves, and other things which they do not know. 36 And there is a sign in the night for them. We strip off the day from it and they are left in darkness, 37 The sun runs to its fixed resting place; that is the decree of the Almighty, the Knower. 38 how We ordained the moon to pass through certain phases until it seems eventually to be like a bent twig; 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 And a Sign for them is that We bore their race (through the Flood) in the loaded Ark; 41 And We made similar vessels for them to ride. 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 Unless it be a mercy from Us, and as an enjoyment for a while. 44 When it is said to such people: “Guard yourselves against what is ahead of you and what has preceded you that mercy be shown to you” (they pay scant heed to it). 45 Yet there never comes to them any sign of their Lord's signs, but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them: “Spend (in the Way of Allah) out of the sustenance that Allah has provided you,” the unbelievers say to the believers: “Shall we feed him whom, Allah would have fed, had He so wished?” Say: “You are in evident error.” 47 And they say: "When will this promise (i.e. Resurrection) be fulfilled, if you are truthful?" 48 They do not await except one blast which will seize them while they are disputing. 49 Then they cannot make bequest, nor can they return to their own folk. 50
