The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the pages are made public 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
