The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun is covered, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Then every soul will know what it had prepared for itself. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
