O ye messengers! enjoy (all) things good and pure, and work righteousness: for I am well-acquainted with (all) that ye do. 51 Your religion is but one religion -- and I am your only Lord, therefore, fear Me. 52 But they split in their affair between them into sects, each party rejoicing in what is with them. 53 Therefore leave them in their overwhelming ignorance till 54 Do they imagine that the wealth and children We have provided 55 have no other purpose except to help them in acquiring material benefits? No indeed. But they do not understand. 56 Surely they who from fear of their Lord are cautious, 57 who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 And they who do not associate anything with their Lord 59 who give, whatever they give in charity, with their hearts trembling at the thought that they are destined to return to their Lord; 60 These race for the good things, and they shall win them in the race. 61 We do not lay a burden on anyone beyond his capacity. We have a Book with Us that speaks the truth (about everyone); and they shall in no wise be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do,- 63 But when We seize with the punishment those of them that live in ease, they groan. 64 (It will be said): "Groan not in supplication this day: for ye shall certainly not be helped by Us. 65 Surely My signs have been rehearsed unto you, and upon your heel ye were wont to draw back. 66 In pride (they Quraish pagans and polytheists of Makkah used to feel proud that they are the dwellers of Makkah sanctuary Haram), talking evil about it (the Quran) by night. 67 Did they never ponder over this Word (of God)? Or has he (to wit, the Messenger) brought something the like of which did not come to their forefathers of yore? 68 Or did they not recognise their Messenger and so denied him? 69 Or say they: There is a madness in him? Nay, but he bringeth them the Truth; and most of them are haters of the Truth. 70 And had the Truth followed their desires, then indeed the heavens and the earth and all those who are in them would be destroyed; in fact We brought to them a thing in which lay their repute, so they are turned away from their own repute. 71 (Do they disbelieve because) you asked them for payment? The reward that you will receive from your Lord is the best. He is the best Provider. 72 But verily thou callest them to the Straight Way; 73 but, behold, those who will not believe in the life to come are bound to deviate from that way. 74 ۞ And even were We to show them mercy and remove whatever distress might befall them [in this life,] they would still persist in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro. 75 We seized them with the punishment, but they did not surrender to their Lord, nor will they humble themselves 76 until We opened upon them the door of a severe chastisement. Then lo, in this state they become utterly despaired of any good. 77
