And assuredly We delivered the Children of Isra'il from an ignominous torment 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 "There is no dying for us but once; and we shall not be raised again. 35 Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful." 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
