Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Did He choose daughters rather than sons? 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 What, will you not remember? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial, 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks, 165 And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). 166 They used to say: 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 They have rejected the Quran. They will soon know the consequences (of their disbelief). 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 So when it does descend in their courtyards so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! 177 So turn away from them for a time 178 And watch and they shall see (the torment)! 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
