Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Verily, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people (Saying): "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful torment." 1 He said: "O my people, I warn you clearly 2 that you should worship God [alone] and be conscious of Him. "Now do pay heed unto me, 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 but my call has only increased them in running away. 6 And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud. 7 Then I called them loudly and more openly, 8 "Further I have spoken to them in public and secretly in private, 9 And I said: ask forgiveness of your Lord; verily He is ever Most Forgiving. 10 He will send down abundant rain from the sky for you, 11 and will aid you with worldly goods and children, and will bestow upon you gardens, and bestow upon you running waters. 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 He has created you by stages! 14 Do you not see how God has fashioned seven skies one above the other, 15 and made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp, 16 God made you grow from the earth. 17 then He shall return you into it, and bring you forth. 18 Allah has made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 That you may follow therein roads of passage.'
