۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring. 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Even so We do with the sinners; 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 (They will be told): “You shall taste the grievous chastisement. 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 shall have a known provision -- 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 so delicate as the hidden peel under an egg's shell. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 who was wont to ask [me,] 'Why - art thou really one of those who believe it to be true 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 Are we not then to die 58 "Except our first death, and we shall not be punished? (after we have entered Paradise)." 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire, 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
