Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
