Those who spend their wealth by day and by night, in private and in public, their wage is with their Lord, and no fear shall be on them, neither shall they sorrow. 274 Those who swallow down usury cannot arise except as one whom Shaitan has prostrated by (his) touch does rise. That is because they say, trading is only like usury; and Allah has allowed trading and forbidden usury. To whomsoever then the admonition has come from his Lord, then he desists, he shall have what has already passed, and his affair is in the hands of Allah; and whoever returns (to it)-- these are the inmates of the fire; they shall abide in it. 275 God deprives usurious gains of all blessing, whereas He blesses charitable deeds with manifold increase. And God does not love anyone who is stubbornly ingrate and persists in sinful ways. 276 Verily those who believe and work righteous works and establish prayer and give the poor-rate, theirs shall be their hire with their Lord: no fear shall come on them nor shall they grieve. 277 Believers, have fear of God, and give up what is still due to you from usury, if you are true believers. 278 For, if you do not do so, then know that you are at war with God and His Messenger. But if you repent, you may retain your capital. Do not wrong [others] and you will not be wronged. 279 If the debtor is in straitened circumstances, then grant him respite till a time of ease. If you were to write it off as an act of charity, that would be better for you, if only you knew. 280 And fear the Day whereon ye shall be brought back unto Allah, then shall each soul be repaid in full that which he hath earned, and they shall not be wronged. 281
