S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Sad. By the Qur'an containing reminder... 1 But nay - they who are bent on denying the truth are lost in [false] pride, and [hence] deeply in the wrong. 2 How many generations We have destroyed before them! And they cried out when it was too late to escape. 3 Now these [people] deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst - and [so] the deniers of the truth are saying: "A [mere] spellbinder is he, a liar! 4 Does he claim that all the deities are [but] one God? Verily, a most strange thing is this!" 5 And their leaders went about, “Leave him and cling steadfastly to your Gods! Indeed he has a hidden objective in this!” 6 “We never heard of this even in Christianity, the latest religion; this is clearly a newly fabricated matter.” 7 Has this Exhortation been sent down among us only to him, to the exclusion of all others?” Nay, they are in doubt regarding My Exhortation, and are saying all this because they have not yet had any taste of My chastisement. 8 Or do they have the depositories of the mercy of your Lord, the Exalted in Might, the Bestower? 9 Have they control over heavens and earth and whatever [lies] between them? Then let them climb up to heaven by ropes: 10 (As they denied Allah's Message) they will be a defeated host like the confederates of the old times (who were defeated). 11 The people of Nuh and Ad, and Firon, the lord of spikes, rejected (apostles) before them. 12 And [the tribe of] Thamud and the people of Lot and the companions of the thicket. Those are the companies. 13 Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them). 14
