The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
