The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 177 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask of you no reward for this. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said: "Surely you are deluded. 185 Thou art but a mortal like us, and lo! we deem thee of the liars. 186 "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent* seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them). 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
