He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned (his) back, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 you attend to him, 6 Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 and in awe of God 9 you pay him no heed. 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 It is contained in scrolls highly honoured, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 Written by the hands of emissaries. 15 Honourable and Virtuous. 16 May man be slain how ungrateful he is! 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 Then doth He make His path smooth for him; 20 then makes him to die, and buries him, 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 We send down abundant water, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 And We made corn grow, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 and gardens dense with foliage, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 But when the deafening cry shall be sounded 33 on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, 34 Mother and father, 35 and his consort and his children; 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 Some faces on that day will be radiant, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
