۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire 23 and stop them there for questioning: 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 In fact this day they have all surrendered. 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 The statement of Our Lord is realized against us, and we are tasting it, 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 So all of them on that day are sharers in the chastisement. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 Not in the least. He has brought the truth and confirmed the other messengers. 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 although you shall not be requited for aught but what you were wont to do. 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 on couches facing each other. 44 a goblet from a spring shall be passed round to them 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 who was wont to ask [me,] 'Why - art thou really one of those who believe it to be true 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 Are we not then to die 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 Which We have reserved as punishment for evil-doers? 63 Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell; 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies with it. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
