Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 labouring, weary, 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
