NAY, but consider the moon! 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 A warning to mankind, 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 About the guilty: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
