The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 Created man, 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
