The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 And by oath of a passage, written – 2 On a parchment scroll unrolled, 3 by the established House (Mecca), 4 And [by] the heaven raised high 5 And the sea kept filled, 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 Of it there is no preventer. 8 On the day when the heavens will swiftly fly 9 The mountains move and fly away, 10 Woe, then, will be on that Day to the beliers 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell 13 (And it is said unto them): This is the Fire which ye were wont to deny. 14 Is this magic, or do you not see? 15 "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." 16 The pious will live in bountiful Paradise, 17 enjoying what Allah will have endowed them with; and their Lord will have saved them from the torment of the Blazing Fire. 18 “Eat and drink with pleasure, a reward for what you used to do.” 19 reclining on couches [of happiness] ranged in rows!" And [in that paradise] We shall mate them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. 20 And those who believe and whose families follow them in Faith,- to them shall We join their families: Nor shall We deprive them (of the fruit) of aught of their works: (Yet) is each individual in pledge for his deeds. 21 And We shall provide them with fruit and meat, such as they desire. 22 They will exchange cups of wine free of (incitement to) pleasantry or sin. 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 They will go to one another asking each other questions: 25 Saying, “Indeed before this, we were in our houses, worried.” 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 Formerly we had always prayed to Him. Surely He is Most Benign, Most Compassionate.” 28
