Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 it is not a jest. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
