۞ When [Jesus] the son of Mary is held up as an example, your people raise an outcry on this, 57 saying, "Are our gods better or him?" -- they cite him only to challenge you: they are a contentious people -- 58 He was naught but a servant on whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the children of Israel. 59 And if We willed, We could have made [instead] of you angels succeeding [one another] on the earth. 60 AND, BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a means to know [that] the Last Hour [is bound to come]; hence, have no doubt whatever about it, but follow Me: this [alone] is a straight way. 61 Let satan not prevent you from the right path. He is your sworn enemy". 62 When Jesus came with the signs, he said: "I have come to you with authority, and to explain some thing about which you are at variance. So fear God, and follow me. 63 Lo! Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him. This is a right path. 64 But parties from among them differed, so woe to those who were unjust because of the chastisement of a painful day. 65 Are they waiting except for the Hour to come upon them suddenly while they perceive not? 66 The friends shall on that day be enemies one to another, except those who guard (against evil). 67
