Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Gross rivalry diverts you, 1 Till you reach the grave. 2 Nay, in time you will come to understand! 3 And once again: Nay, in time you will come to understand! 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 You will surely see the Hellfire. 6 Then you will see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then on that day you shall most certainly be questioned about the boons. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
