Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 and the smooth runners 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad SAW and the Quran) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
