The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
