The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And (as to) the companions of the left hand; how wretched are the companions of the left hand! 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 and with fruit of any kind that they may choose, 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 A recompense for that which they have been working. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and banana trees, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 And fruit in plenty 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 And raised couches. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virgins, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
