The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Alif, Lam, Meem 1 Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: "We believe," and will not be tested. 2 But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars. 3 Or bethink those who work ill deeds that they shall outstrip Us? Ill do they judge! 4 Whoso looks to encounter God, God's term is coming; He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 5 He who strives does so for himself. Verily God is independent of the creatures of the world. 6 as for those who have faith and do good works, We shall certainly cleanse them of their evil deeds and reward them according to the best of their actions. 7 And We have enjoined on man kindness unto parents. But if the twain strive to make thee associate with Me that of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not. Unto Me is your return, and I shall declare unto you that which ye have been working. 8 We shall surely admit those who believe and do good deeds to the company of the righteous. 9 Of mankind is he who saith: We believe in Allah, but, if he be made to suffer for the sake of Allah, he mistaketh the persecution of mankind for Allah's punishment; and then, if victory cometh from thy Lord, will say: Lo! we were with you (all the while). Is not Allah Best Aware of what is in the bosoms of (His) creatures? 10 God will surely know the believers and know the hypocrites. 11 Those who deny the truth say to the faithful, "Follow our way, and we will bear the burden of your sins." But they will bear none of their sins. They are surely lying. 12 Yet most certainly will they have to bear their own burdens, and other burdens besides their own; and most certainly will they be called to account on Resurrection Day for all their false assertions! 13
