Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
No! By the moon 32 by the retreating night, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As they were frightened asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
