Nay! By the moon 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 A warning to mankind, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 except those of the right hand 39 in Gardens they will question 40 about the guilty ones: 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
