The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
