And rehearse to them (something of) Abraham's story. 69 when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds, 77 who created me; and He guides me, 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 and heals me when I am sick. 80 And He Who shall cause me to die, and then shall quicken me. 81 “And the One Who, upon Whom I pin my hopes, will forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgement.” 82 [And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous. 83 And appoint for me an honourable mention among the posterity 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 "And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up;- 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 And Hell is brought near to the perverse' 91 and they will be asked: "Where now is all that you were wont to worship 92 instead of God? Can these [things and beings] be of any help to you or to themselves?" 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 Now we have no intercessors, 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers. 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. 104

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
