The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 They who are during their prayer humbly submissive 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 And who pay heed to their prayers. 9 Such are the inheritors 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 Thereafter We made him (the offspring of Adam) as a Nutfah (mixed drops of the male and female sexual discharge) (and lodged it) in a safe lodging (womb of the woman). 13 We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. 14 And then you will certainly die, 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
