Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
