The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Nay! most surely the record of the wicked is in the Sijjin. 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 A written record. 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". 13 By no means! Aye! encrusted upon their hearts is that which they have been earning. 14 Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. 15 then they shall roast in Hell. 16 and be told: "This is the [very thing] to which you were wont to give the lie!" 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 On thrones, looking (at all things). 23 On their faces you will see the glow of beatitude. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine whereon the seal [of God] will have been set, 25 pouring forth with a fragrance of musk. To that [wine of paradise,] then, let all such aspire as [are willing to] aspire to things of high account: 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 a fountain at which do drink those brought nigh. 28 Behold, the wicked were wont to laugh at the believers: 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Will not the infidels pay for what they had done? 36
