NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 A warning for people -- 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 About the guilty: 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
