The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people together 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
