(People), is your creation harder for God than that of the heavens, which He created, raised and established 27 high above? 28 and darkened its night, and brought forth its forenoon; 29 And the earth, He expanded it after that. 30 and brought out of it its water and its pasture, 31 And the mountains He has fixed firmly; 32 A provision for you and for your cattle. 33 But when there comes the greatest catastrophe (i.e. the Day of Recompense, etc.), 34 The Day when man shall remember what he strove for, 35 And Hell-Fire shall be placed in full view for (all) to see,- 36 Then, for such as had transgressed all bounds, 37 and preferred the worldly life, 38 Will surely have Hell for his abode. 39 And for such as had entertained the fear of standing before their Lord's (tribunal) and had restrained (their) soul from lower desires, 40 most surely his abode shall be Paradise. 41 They ask thee about the Hour,-'When will be its appointed time? 42 Why (ask they)? What hast thou to tell thereof? 43 With thy Lord is the Limit fixed therefore. 44 You are but a Herald of Warning, for one who fears it. 45 The Day they see it, (It will be) as if they had tarried but a single evening, or (at most till) the following morn! 46
