The dwellers in El-Hijr cried lies to the Envoys. 80 And We brought Our signs unto them, yet they were averting themselves therefrom. 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 And all that they had done (for security) availed them nothing. 84 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them except with Truth. Surely the Hour will come. So, (O Muhammad), do graciously overlook them (despite their misdeeds). 85 Your Lord is indeed the Creator of all, the All-Knowing. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy. 88 and say, 'Surely, I am the manifest warner.' 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 those who had split up their Qur'an into pieces. 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 concerning that they were doing. 93 Promulgate thou that which thou art commanded, and turn away from the associaters. 94 For sufficient are We unto thee against those who scoff,- 95 Who set up along with Allah another god; presently they shall know. 96 Indeed, We know that your breast is straitened at what they say. 97 So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
