The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
