The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
