Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 for an appointed term? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
