So exhort (them, O Prophet), for by your Lord's Grace, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say: "(Muhammad SAW is) a poet! We await for him some calamity by time! 30 Say thou: "Wait, [then,] hopefully; behold, I, too, shall hopefully wait with you!" 31 Do their minds prompt them to say such things, or are they a people immersed in transgression?” 32 Or do they say: "He (Muhammad SAW) has forged it (this Quran)?" Nay! They believe not! 33 So let them bring a discourse like it, if they are truthful 34 Have they not been created from some source, or are they themselves the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay! they have no certainty. 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord? Have they any authority over God? 37 Have they a stairway whereby they overhear? Then let their listener bring an authority manifest. 38 Does God have daughters while you have sons? 39 Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down? 40 Or have they the unseen so that they write (it) down? 41 Or desire they to outwit? The unbelievers, they are the outwitted. 42 Is theirs a god beside Allah? Hallowed be Allah from that which they associate! 43 If they should see a segment falling from the sky, they would say: "It is only a massive cloud." 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs when they shall be struck down, 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 And surely those who are unjust shall have a punishment besides that (in the world), but most of them do not know. 47 And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord when you arise. 48 and exalt Him in the night and at the declining of the stars. 49
