Alshu'araa' 7 of 11

(The tribe of) A'ad denied the messengers (of Allah). 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: fear ye not? 124 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 125 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 126 And I do not ask you any reward for it; surely my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds 127 "Do you build useless monuments on every mountain 128 and raise strong mansions as if you were to live forever? 129 And if ye seize by force, seize ye as tyrants? 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 And fear He who provided you with that which you know, 132 He has given you abundance of cattle and children 133 gardens and fountains. 134 I fear for you the chastisement of an Awesome Day." 135 They said, “It is the same for us, whether you advise us or not be of the preachers.” 136 That is nothing but a habit of the ancients, 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 So they rejected him, and We destroyed them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 139 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
