The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great tidings! 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 Nay! they shall soon come to know 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 and the night as a cover, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 save boiling water and pus 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30
