Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 labouring, weary, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 In a high Garden 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 therein a running fountain, 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 and goblets laid out, 14 And cushions ranged 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
