The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
