۞ So I swear by the setting places of the stars. 75 and this is indeed a mighty oath, if only you knew 76 Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an 77 [conveyed unto man] in a well-guarded divine writ 78 which none shall touch except the purified; 79 A Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. 80 What, do you hold this discourse in disdain, 81 You live by calling it a lie. 82 Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throat 83 and that hour you are watching 84 But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 209] 85 Then why do you not, if you are exempt from the reckoning and recompense (punishment, etc.) 86 do you not cause the soul to return to him if you are truthful in your claim? 87 Then if he is one of those drawn nigh (to Allah), 88 For him shall be comfort, and fragrance and a Garden of Delight. 89 And if he was of the companions of the right, 90 he will be welcomed by the words: “Peace to you” from the People on the Right. 91 And if he is one of the rejecters, the erring ones, 92 there shall be a hospitality of boiling water, 93 And burning in Hellfire 94 This is indeed the indubitable truth. 95 So exalt the Name of your Lord, the Great. 96
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah). Sent down in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
