Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 in a garden sublime, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 In which are high thrones. 13 And cups put in place 14 Cushions arranged, 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
